Nexii Building Solutions is the latest B.C. company to claim unicorn status of a valuation of at least USD $1 billion.
Vancouver’s Nexii is a green construction tech company tackling the global environmental crisis through sustainable building products. The company’s innovative technologies allow for fast, efficient development of sustainable, more affordable, durable, and disaster-resilient buildings.
This week they revealed that they recently closed a USD $45 million funding round led by Honeywell and including Trane, the manufacturer of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems.
This latest round, their sixth, values the company at USD $1.23 billion making them B.C.’s latest unicorn.
Earlier this summer Nexii and Honeywell struck a strategic alliance making Honeywell the exclusive building technologies supplier for new buildings constructed by Nexii.
In December 2020, Nexii constructed a first-of-its-kind sustainably built Starbucks drive-thru store, and in May 2021, Nexii announced a partnership with Popeyes to deliver a new sustainable restaurant in Abbotsford.
