Fleet management software company KeepTruckin is reinventing itself as an ‘Internet of Things’ automation company and rebranding itself as Motive to better reflect the fact it’s no longer focused solely on the trucking industry.
Established in 2013, Motive has modernized the trucking industry with its fleet management platform, which brings trucks online to change the way freight is moved on our roads. Their platform enables clients to protect their businesses and improve driver safety with intelligent video telematics, while real-time GPS tracking allows companies to track vehicles, trailers, and equipment to improve operations.
“Today, our name catches up with who we’re already building for — every business and organization that powers the physical economy. Motive is for the builders, growers, makers, and movers who work tirelessly to serve their customers and communities,” wrote CEO Shoaib Makani regarding the brand refresh.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Motive established a remote engineering team in 2019, shortly after being declared a unicorn. They have since expanded their footprint in Canada with a permanent office in Vancouver.
Darren Butterworth, Motive’s Lead Technical Recruiter, told Techcouver that Motive has already hired over 1,100 people globally and is scaling their engineering teams and looking for Backend, Front end and Mobile Engineers.
