Vancouver’s Hydra Energy, the world’s first Hydrogen-as-a-Service (HaaS™) provider for commercial fleets, has landed a partnership with a major western Canadian heavy-duty truck dealer group to accelerate adoption of its hydrogen conversion kits.
This is a first-of-its-kind green trucking collaboration with First Truck Centre will now allow commercial truck fleet owners to quickly convert their trucks to run on hydrogen and diesel reducing emissions up to 40% – at zero cost to them and without negatively impacting truck performance.
First Truck Centre is the largest western Canadian-owned and operated group of Freightliner and Western Star dealerships with 13 locations across the region including centres in Prince George, B.C. and Edmonton, Alberta where Hydra has announced its first two fleet customers.
“Furthering relationships like this one with First Truck Centre is the fastest way for Hydra to convert more heavy-duty vehicles to run on both hydrogen and diesel. It’s also critical that we work with partners who have existing relationships with fleets so Hydra’s two-day conversion and any ongoing maintenance can be done locally,” stated Hydra CEO, Jessica Verhagen.
“We’re honoured to work alongside the First Truck Centre team and welcome their experienced input as we continue to perfect our economical, transition solution on the road to Net Zero.”
This partnership comes on the heels of Hydra delivering the first converted truck last week to its second fleet customer, Veteran Express Secure Logistics out of Alberta, marking the world’s first road-ready, hydrogen-converted armoured vehicle and highlighting the flexibility of Hydra’s emissions reduction retrofit technology.
