130 companies submitted applications and 46 will pitch in the Seed Funding and Series A Funding categories. These companies were selected by an independent review panel, made up of local and international investors.
The companies represent some of British Columbia’s most promising startups and come from a variety of different sectors, including cleantech, ICT, and life sciences.

Wiivv (pronounced weave) is a tech startup transforming footwear, apparel & wellness for every human body. Wiivv insoles and sandals are created uniquely for you, based on measurements taken from the Wiivv app. Wiivv also partners with brands and creators such as Dr.Scholl’s to scale the customization of their products using Wiivv Fit Technology.
HeadCheck Health
HeadCheck Health enhances the way sports organizations manage their concussion policy through innovative testing, documentation, and compliance reporting software. HeadCheck includes an app that can be customized to more easily execute the testing requirements of any protocol. A web dashboard and reports help administrators assess the effectiveness and compliance of teams to the league policy and proactively manage player safety.
Acuva
Acuva Technologies designs and manufactures advanced UV-LED drinking water disinfection systems. Acuva’s globally patented technology delivers microbial disinfection rates of 99.9% or greater in a compact, energy efficient, chemical-free, ultra-low maintenance modules designed for easy integration into a variety of OEM drink dispensing appliances and ice makers, along with advanced applications in lab water equipment.
