Canadian Business has published their Growth 500 list – the Complete Ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies.

These are the 500 fastest-growing companies in Canada, measured by their revenue growth over the last five years.

The 2019 list is diverse: they represent a vast array of industries, regions and size. But in one variable they are firmly united: each has demonstrated aggressive—often, exponential—revenue growth.

A number of Vancouver-based tech companies are recognized in this year’s cohort of entrepreneurial superstars including Article who grabbed the #1 spot for the second year in a row.

With revenue over US $100 million in 2018, online furniture retailer Article has experienced 5-year revenue growth of 24,182%. That’s a lot of coffee tables.

The Top 500 also include the following tech companies from Vancouver:

Applicant firms are ranked based on five-year revenue growth (from 2013 to 2018, or fiscal 2014 to 2019).

Companies are shortlisted based on revenue figures supplied on a brief self-nominating ballot, then verified revenue claims and eligibility through detailed questionnaires and reviews of applicant-supplied financial statements.

A minimum revenue requirement of $2 million in the most recent fiscal year applied to all companies.
