Vancouver startup ShopandShout has a new board member and strategic advisor, Canadian entrepreneur and Dragon Manjit Minhas.
The influencer marketing platform connects social media influencers to brands for sponsorships and opportunities. Projected to become a $15 Billion dollar industry, influencer marketing continues to dominate the marketing landscape.
For influencers, finding paid/unpaid partnerships can be both challenging and competitive. ShopandShout allows influencers to choose who they want to work with, allowing them to grow their targeted audience and create authentic content.
“We’re excited to have Manjit Minhas on the team of ShopandShout,” shared co-founder Vinod Varma. “With our new advisor, ShopandShout can grow the platform to reach new markets, more influencers, and work with more brands.”
Minhas was pushed into the national spotlight when she joined CBC’s hit show Dragons’ Den as an investor six years ago.
When not on television, Minhas co-owns Minhas Breweries, Distilleries and Wineries – an empire that had revenues in excess of $210 million in 2019. The “beer baroness” has won several prestigious business industry awards including Canada’s Top 40 Under 40.
“I am excited to be an advisor to ShopandShout, I like that it is an easily accessible social marketplace that is focused on some of today’s hottest trends – health/wellness, food and beauty and allows influencers to be creative and collaborate with brands they enjoy,” said Manjit Minhas.
Founded in 2016 by Varma and Laura Wensley, ShopandShout was recently named to the Top 25 of the 2020 New Ventures BC Competition.
Since inception, ShopandShout has worked with hundreds of brands and agencies which include Colgate, Walmart, Weathbar, Geometry Global, and Ogilvy and Mather. They have one of the most advanced creator search tools, allowing their clients to have access to over 500 million creators on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
