Vancouver’s Paidia Gaming has announced an oversubscribed $5.5 million seed round to fund the development and growth of its fully-integrated, gaming portal.
Named after the Greek goddess of play and amusement, Paidia is a women-led gaming, technology and media company building an inclusive gaming community to empower gamers to safely connect, learn and play.
Paidia’s gaming portal (currently in beta) includes prize pool tournaments and access to safe gameplay, entertainment, community experiences and membership rewards.
Interested gamers can check out the beta gaming portal by creating an account and taking the “Paidia Pledge” to uphold the values of Paidia for a brighter future in gaming: inclusion, integration, diversity, and kindness.
Paidia’s team is run by an executive team of all women gaming, technology and media experts led by co-founder and CEO Jill Kenney.
Paidia was co-founded by local serial entrepreneur and investor Jonathan Bixby.
“I am involved because I believe that women need a global gaming brand, and a connected gaming universe – created for women by women. We have the ability to change lives across the world and influence their lifelong relationship to gaming,” Bixby shares on the site.
