Terramera, Ekona Power Among Winners Of 2022 BC Cleantech Awards

At a time when climate concerns are reaching all-time highs in our province, it’s never been more important to recognize and celebrate the British Columbians championing a green future.

Last night the BC Cleantech Awards recognized the innovators, educators, associations, and companies that are having the biggest impact on our province’s growing green economy.

“We are honoured to recognize the many change-makers in British Columbia who are leading the fight against climate change through innovation, investments and collaboration,” said Foresight CEO, Jeanette Jackson.

“To all of the nominees and finalists, your hard work did not go unnoticed. Thank you for your tireless dedication to ushering in a green, sustainable future, and congratulations to the winners of the 2022 BC Cleantech Awards.”

The winners of the 2022 BC Cleantech Awards are:

  • Industry Icon: Karn Manhas, Terramera
    Someone who has made a significant impact and is changing the world of cleantech.

  • Rising Star: Ekona Power
    An emerging cleantech company on the move, making things happen.

  • Thriving Company: HTEC
    A growing cleantech venture that is connecting with customers and contributing climate solutions.

  • Ecosystem Builder: Sarah Applebaum, Pangaea Ventures
    An influential connector who lifts up others through introductions and networking.

  • Policy Maker: Jonathan Wilkinson, Government of Canada
    A self proclaimed leader in government who’s working hard to move us forward on the path to net zero.

  • Top Educator: Hassan Farhangi, British Columbia Institute of Technology
    Someone who is taking an innovative and leading approach to education in cleantech.

  • Transformation Advocate: TransLink
    An early-adopting organization that uses their power and influence to move the province toward a sustainable future.

  • Community Impact: Kanaka Bar Indian Band
    An organization that is contributing to the region’s liveability through their support of cleantech.

  • Educational Institution: entrepreneurship@UBC
