Victoria’s Assembly Digital has been acquired by St. Joseph Communications, Canada’s largest privately-owned print, media, and content marketing company. Through its acquisition of Assembly, St. Joseph is furthering its investment in the digital publishing space.
Launched in 2015 by Redbrick, Assembly is a digital publishing company that currently reaches over 25 million visitors, monthly across the brands it has developed in-house: Facty Health, Heywise, Automaatic, The Getaway, The Habitat, and Critter Culture.
Together, the two companies will be well-positioned to continue their contribution to growing the Canadian publishing industry, with Assembly joining the many other notable companies that St. Joseph Communications has acquired over the past six decades.
In recent years, the publishing giant has added such high-profile brands as Maclean’s, Chatelaine, and Today’s Parent to its portfolio.
Co-founded by Tobyn Sowden and Marco Pimentel, Assembly was part of their Redbrick portfolio. Redbrick will leverage the funds from Assembly’s acquisition to further grow its own portfolio, which includes the companies Leadpages, Shift, Rebase, and Delivra.
Assembly was named BC’s fastest growing company in 2020, ranking #1 on Business in Vancouver’s list of the fastest-growing companies for its unprecedented growth of 66,730% over 5 years.
