Webcouv3r and Angel Forum Collaborate on DAO Night

May 19, 2022 by Bulletin Board Leave a Comment

Have you heard of DAO?

A Decentralized Autonomous Organization is like a member-owned community without centralized leadership, according to one definition from Ethereum, as well as a “safe place to commit funds to a specific cause.”

Webcouv3r, which hosts web3 events in the Vancouver area, is collaborating with Angel Forum to spotlight some of the Vancouver people working in the space at an event they call DAO Night.

The DAO is an organization “designed to be automated and decentralized,” explains Webcouv3r. “It acts as a form of venture capital fund, based on open-source code and without a typical management structure or board of directors.”

Vancouver is considered a leading city in web3, so Webcouv3r and Angel Forum thought it was time to showcase the leaders in the scene.

The event will explore the specifics of DAO creation, joining and managing a DAO, and take a look at the opportunities and challenges in the DAO space in Vancouver. The panel features Annika Lewis of GitCoin, Adrian Li of YVR DAO, and Gregory Peacock of squiggleDAO and will be moderated by Chris Neumann of Panache Ventures.

DAO Night is on June 2nd and tickets are $20.
