Vancouver web3 gaming startup Rapture Labs has added LayerZero co-founders Bryan Pellegrino and Ryan Zarick to its advisory board.
Pellegrino and Zarick co-founded LayerZero, along with Caleb Banister, to solve a problem nobody else had been able to effectively solve in crypto and blockchain spaces – to enable secure and direct cross-chain communication.
Rapture Labs is launching a series of games that incorporate LayerZero technology to offer players the freedom of choice to utilize the chain of their preference while broadening audiences and increasing their liquidity options.
“LayerZero’s team is solving one of crypto’s most important challenges with expertise they’ve proven through real omnichain innovation,” said Dario Meli, Co-founder & Chair of Rapture Labs.
“Bryan Pellegrino and Ryan Zarick will be invaluable to Rapture Labs as we create unique technology and launch competitive high-stakes games to bring mass adoption to blockchain technology.”
Earlier this year LayerZero raised a USD $135 million funding round co-led by Sequoia Capital, a16z, and FTX Ventures that valued the web3 startup at $1 billion.
“Rapture Labs’ commitment to omnichain through gaming innovation aligns with LayerZero’s vision and effort to bring about a more efficient and powerful crypto user experience” said Bryan Pellegrino, LayerZero’s Co-founder & CEO. “I am thrilled to support Rapture Labs as they build multi-chain experiences that allow for a greater crypto audience to engage in gameplay.”
Ryan Zarick, Co-founder & CTO of LayerZero adds “We believe omnichain opens the door for blockchain users to access liquidity options, which serves many benefits for gamers as the sector expands and grows. I look forward to working alongside the Rapture Labs team to help drive that vision.”
Rapture Labs will release its genesis project, Degen Capital Partners, an omnichain play-to-earn predictive gaming platform tied to real-time crypto market movement Q1 of 2023.
