Jelly Academy Aims to Help Canadian Companies Fill Sales Void

January 21, 2023 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

According to the Canadian Professional Sales Association, 75% of companies have reported difficulty finding qualified sales professionals.

Jelly Academy announced this month that it has partnered with Shane Gibson, founder of the Professional Sales Academy, in an effort to address this void.

The Vancouver-born Jelly Academy, which was recently a finalist for a Technology Impact Award, has partnered with author and trainer Gibson to develop the B2B Sales Specialist Program.

Accredited by the CPSA, Jelly’s B2B curriculum is aligned with the core competency framework for sales developed in partnership with industry leaders across Canada, according to a statement from the company.

“This program is based upon best practices, sales processes and insights that we have implemented with leading B2B sales organizations globally,” Gibson stated. “The B2B Sales Specialist (Certification) Program covers key soft skills, sales strategy, and social selling skills required to succeed today and in the future.”

The digital marketing school “relies heavily on listening to hiring managers and industry experts in order to shape our curriculum,” Jelly’s Darian Kovacs noted last year.

This is reflected in the online course’s 13 modules, including: “Future-Proof Your B2B Sales Career,” “Targeting the Right Clients,” and “LinkedIn for Sales Fundamentals.”

The B2B Sales Specialist Certification Program “equips you with a complete process and selling methodology that includes prospecting, business development, negotiations, one-on-one communications to social selling and strategic sales planning,” a description of the program reads. “You will learn proven sales best practices, sales processes and methodologies developed.”

The program tuition fee includes CPSA Membership, certification, and exam costs on top of 19.5 hours of instruction and 13 hours of self-directed coursework.

“The revenue engine—the sales function—of leading Canadian organizations are adapting to powerful economic and social trends that are rapidly separating the best from the rest,” believes Sandro Verrelli, CEO of the Canadian Professional Sales Association. “We believe that selling well is the catalyst for the economic and social well-being of all Canadians.”

“Verified” B2B Sales Specialist students will then join the industry as sales professionals. Optionally they can qualify for a Certified Sales Professional or Certified Sales Associate designation.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Shane Gibson on this course, and to have the program accredited via the CPSA,” added Jelly’s Chris Penner. “Jelly Academy is focused on putting together training programs that ultimately support individuals in developing skills to either gain promotions, or land a new job. This program is built to do just that.”
