To accelerate the world towards a net-zero carbon future we need to catalyze breakthrough innovations that have the potential to significantly reduce GHG emissions and address ‘hard to decarbonize’ challenges.
The British Columbia Centre for Innovation and Clean Energy (CICE) is doing just that.
The CICE has announced their 2023 Open Call for Innovation with expression of interest applications being accepted until February 10, 2023.
This call is to help fast-track the development, commercialization and scaling of innovative, made-in-B.C. clean energy solutions by awarding up to $6 million in non-dilutive grants.
Recipients from last year’s inaugural Open Call included Moment Energy, Corvus Energy, Hydra Energy, and Ekona Power.
The CICE Open Call for Innovation presents an opportunity for B.C. innovators in the clean energy sector to advance their world-class solutions in any of these five focus areas:
- Low carbon hydrogen
- Renewable natural gas
- Battery technology and energy storage
- Carbon management
- Bioenergy, biofuels and synthetic fuels
Funding will be contributed in the form of non-dilutive grants, paid in increments upon successful completion of project milestones. Award recipients will be announced no later than June 1, 2023.
