Trickfilm Entertainment Launches Real-Time Animation Festival

March 1, 2023 by Robert Lewis Leave a Comment

Trickfilm Entertainment has launched the World’s first Real-Time Animation Festival, a celebration of animated films created and broadcast using EPIC Games’ Unreal Engine.

The Trickfilm Real-Time Animation Festival is a unique opportunity for filmmakers to explore the limitless possibilities of Unreal Engine for animation production and distribution and to showcase their work in front of a global audience.

The films in this festival are distributed in real-time, that is they are broadcast to the audience as they are being rendered. This allows the viewer to customize a character’s appearance, for example, or to determine the outcome of the story.

Trickfilm provides a platform through which filmmakers can distribute their work, without restriction, and monetize it through the direct sale of associated digital, virtual, and physical goods to their audiences.

The platform also allows audiences to discover a wide variety of genres, mediums, formats, and styles of animation from all over the world and to directly support the artists who create it.

“We’re excited to host the inaugural Trickfilm Real-Time Animation Festival and showcase the incredible talent of animators using Unreal Engine,” said Jeremy McCarron Trickfilm’s Founder and CEO.

“With Unreal Engine, animators have access to cutting-edge technology that empowers them to bring their creative vision to life in real-time. We can’t wait to see the amazing films that will be submitted for the festival and share them with audiences worldwide.”

The Trickfilm Real-Time Animation Festival is open to submissions from animators and filmmakers of all experience levels. Entries must be created using Unreal Engine and ready for broadcast in real-time.

The festival welcomes all genres and styles of animation, whenever and wherever it is created. Selected films will be screened on the Trickfilm platform during the festival, and a panel of judges will award a $5,000 prize for the “Best In Show”.

Submissions for the festival close on September 24th and the festival will run from October 13th to October 22nd, 2023. Learn more online.
