Mosa’s One-Year Success: Upcycling 10,000 Glass Bottles and Unveiling Holiday Collection

December 1, 2023 by Robert Lewis 1 Comment

Vancouver startup Mosa is celebrating an impressive milestone on its one year anniversary.

Since the brand’s launch in December 2022, the entrepreneurship@UBC alumni has successfully upcycled over 10,000 glass bottles, diverting them from landfills and reducing carbon emissions.

From the outset, Mosa’s mission has remained steadfast: to establish resource efficiency as the new norm, one glass bottle at a time. The company’s innovative approach involves collecting disposed glass bottles, transforming them through low-energy-intensive methods such as cutting and polishing, into glasses, candles, and lights.

To celebrate this one-year achievement, Mosa has announced the launch of a new Holiday Collection, available exclusively on their website.

Co-funded by recent UBC graduates Prishita Agarwal and Abhiudai Mishra, Mosa has rapidly grown its presence across Canada and the United States, positioning it as a leader in the sustainable lifestyle space.

“Our goal is crystal clear: to make sustainability accessible and exciting for everyone,” said Agarwal. “As we look ahead, our focus is on expanding our reach, collaborating with more retailers, and offering sustainable solutions to businesses seeking unique and eco-conscious gifts.”

Mosa is now strategically positioned for further expansion. The company invites individuals and businesses alike to join it on its journey towards zero waste by exploring its diverse range of upcycled candles and glassware.
