How Hypercharge is Making the ‘Transition to Sustainable Transportation Seamless and Accessible’

September 26, 2024 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

One company out of North Vancouver knows that if electric vehicle adoption is to achieve critical mass, the charging infrastructure for such an event must first be present.

B.C.-born Hypercharge Networks offers turnkey technology to multi-unit residential and commercial buildings, fleet operations, and other sectors.

“Mixed-use residential buildings are quickly recognizing the potential benefits of having EV charging on site, particularly in urban environments where EVs are becoming increasingly popular,” Chris Koch, Head of Growth and Partnerships at Hypercharge, stated last year.

Hypercharge expanded into the U.S. in 2023 and the company’s stations are now available across North America in several states and most Canadian provinces.

In B.C., the upstart continues to work with local partners such as real estate developers, including a recent partnership with Dawson + Sawyer on multiple upcoming projects in Surrey.

“Helping new Dawson + Sawyer homeowners switch to electric vehicles is key to making our communities greener,” stated Koch this month. “This agreement with Dawson + Sawyer enables Hypercharge to bring EV charging to two new communities, making the transition to sustainable transportation seamless and accessible for residents in these developments.”

In addition to electrifying residential projects, Hypercharge has also been powering vehicle fleets.

For example, the North Van firm recently announced a Western Canadian energy infrastructure provider ordered $4 million worth of fast-charging ports.

“This expanded order demonstrates the growing demand and confidence our partners have in Hypercharge’s ability to deliver reliable, large-scale charging solutions tailored to fleet needs,” said David Bibby, chief executive of Hypercharge, recently.

“We are proud to support the shift to fully electrified fleets by providing fleet operators and energy companies with the fast-charging infrastructure they need for reliable operation and to achieve their sustainability goals,” the CEO continued.

Hypercharge is currently a Technology Impact Award finalist for the category of “Gamechanger: Climate Leadership.”

The Canadian company trades on NEO under the ticker “HC.”
