Vancouver’s Gumloop, a no-code AI automation startup, has raised $24.5 million in Series A funding led by Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from First Round Capital, Y Combinator, and prominent angel investors including Max Mullen (Instacart), Shaan Puri, Bryant Chou (Webflow), and Reynold Xin (Databricks).
Founded less than two years ago in a Vancouver bedroom, Gumloop began as a side project aimed at solving automation challenges for non-technical users in a Discord community. Since then, it has evolved into a powerful no-code platform enabling users to build complex AI-driven automations without engineering expertise. Current use cases range from competitor ad analysis and invoice processing to LinkedIn outreach and content generation.
Gumloop’s user base has grown from indie hackers to enterprise clients, including industry leaders like Instacart, Webflow, Rippling, and Samsara. The platform empowers businesses to streamline operations by enabling employees to create secure, scalable, and shareable AI-powered tools that can replace traditional SaaS products.
Co-founders Max Brodeur-Urbas and Rahul Behal, who managed to reach this milestone without full-time employees—aside from two interns and two contractors—plan to carefully expand the team. The startup aims to maintain high output per employee, targeting a lean yet impactful workforce. “We’re planning on being a 10-person billion-dollar company,” Brodeur-Urbas stated, emphasizing a focus on attracting top-tier talent.
The new capital will accelerate product development as Gumloop capitalizes on the current surge in AI adoption. The funding also enables the company to stay laser-focused on enhancing user experience without external distractions.
“Raising money isn’t the goal—building a product people love is,” shared Brodeur-Urbas. “This investment allows us to build even faster and deliver more value to our users.”
With a growing enterprise footprint and strong investor backing, Gumloop is poised to transform how companies leverage AI automation, making advanced tools accessible to all, regardless of technical background.
