Surrey’s Safe Software revealed a slew of announcements at the annual Peak of Data and AI event in Seattle.
At The Peak, Safe announced the launch of FME Data Virtualization, which is describes as a new capability that allows organizations to expose secure, OpenAPI-compliant REST APIs directly on top of any system or data source the Feature Manipulation Engine supports.
“FME Data Virtualization allows organizations to expose secure APIs on top of their existing systems—without needing to replicate data or manage new infrastructure,” explains Don Murray, cofounder and chief executive officer of Safe Software. “This isn’t just about speed—it’s about putting power and control in the hands of data teams, developers, and architects so they can deliver faster, safer, and smarter data services.”
Unlike traditional tools, FME Data Virtualization lives directly within FME’s no-code integration environment, where transformation, filtering, and governance already happen.
This means users can design, deploy, and manage APIs in the same place they already connect and integrate data, eliminating the need for separate API gateways, middleware, or shadow databases, according to a statement from Safe.
Safe Software also launched FME Realize, an Augmented Reality solution that connects field workers to an organization’s entire data ecosystem, including digital twins.
Built on Safe’s no-code platform and designed with field workers in mind, FME Realize allows users to visualize, update, and interact with digital twins in real time and in context from any iOS device.
“FME Realize is a first-of-its-kind solution that brings the power of all data to the field, where up-to-date access matters most,” said Murray. “FME Realize leverages FME workflows using all data types and any AI, so users can interact with any data, including digital twins to take action, and make smarter decisions on-site, in real time, from any device.”
For all field workers, from city workers to utility workers, site engineers, and more, FME Realize shows data such as 3D models of infrastructure assets (e.g. water pipes and electrical networks) up-to-date and in context.
Users can also update and modify data in real time based on their on-site assessments and invoke AI agents to provide analysis and deliver insights on demand, according to the company.
In addition to multiple product launches, Safe Software this week revealed winners of its Partner Excellence Awards. Among the winners were Amazon Web Services, Avineon Tensing UK, con terra, Locus Australia, Sweco, Consortech, Globema, and IMGS.
“Our partnership ecosystem spans diverse industries and regions around the world, which is made evident by the winners of tonight’s Partner Excellence Awards,” Murray stated. “Congratulations to all of the award winners, and thank you for continuing to be innovative partners that we at Safe Software depend on to bring even more options to harness the power of data to FME users.”
More than 25,000 organizations use Safe’s software worldwide.
