Coquitlam-based healthtech startup Autochart.ai has been selected as a pre-qualified vendor for Canada Health Infoway’s new AI Scribe Program, a national initiative designed to equip up to 10,000 primary-care clinicians with AI-powered documentation tools—free of charge.
Set to launch in June 2025, the program aims to reduce administrative burden on healthcare providers by using artificial intelligence to transcribe and structure clinical conversations in real time. Autochart.ai earned its place on the list following a stringent review of privacy protocols, cybersecurity standards, and usability.
Autochart.ai’s platform leverages Canadian-hosted AI to generate comprehensive clinical notes and automate follow-up actions such as patient emails and specialist referrals. The tool supports over 100 languages and is built to meet Canada’s healthcare privacy regulations.
“Our mission has always been to contribute to the provision of more equitable, efficient and intelligent healthcare,” said Dr. Ali Okhowat, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer at Autochart.ai. “We’re honoured to be part of Infoway’s vision for a more connected, patient-centred health system.”
