Vancouver-based CaterDash has quickly emerged as the go-to catering marketplace for B.C.’s tech events and beyond. Founded by Shreyansh Manchanda, the company is reimagining how organizations source, customize, and manage catering.
“CaterDash is a marketplace that helps companies and events get high-quality catering from the best restaurants,” Manchanda told Techcouver. “Our platform makes it possible to place catering orders in seconds, combining cuisines from multiple restaurant partners, with pricing options ranging from $10 to $100+ per person.”
While traditional catering options can be slow, rigid, and expensive, CaterDash aims to give customers more choice and flexibility—while saving them up to 50%.
Manchanda’s inspiration came from firsthand experience working with restaurants and seeing catering’s untapped potential as a revenue stream. “I realized that while restaurants want to grow through catering, they often lack the tools, distribution, and logistics to do so effectively. CaterDash bridges that gap,” he explained.
Unlike food delivery apps or legacy marketplaces, CaterDash is built exclusively for catering. Its full-stack platform offers curated menus, instant quotes, logistics support, and full-service event solutions. For restaurants, the model delivers everything they need to grow catering without adding overhead or disrupting daily operations.
Since launching last year, CaterDash has delivered thousands of meals for more than 250 customers, including Microsoft, Amazon, RBC, PepsiCo, BMO, P&G, and Arc’teryx. The startup has become the default caterer for nearly every major tech event in Vancouver and has recently expanded to Toronto and Calgary.
“Our biggest challenge early on was building demand from customers and trust amongst restaurants,” Manchanda shared. “To overcome this, I personally delivered catering for over 500 events and managed orders end-to-end.” That hands-on approach paid off, establishing CaterDash’s reputation for reliability and quality.
Today, the company is expanding beyond office lunches into weddings, conferences, festivals, and other large-scale events—helping restaurants access high-margin catering revenue and broadening CaterDash’s market opportunity across North America.
Being headquartered in B.C. has also shaped CaterDash’s identity. “Vancouver has a vibrant food scene, a diverse events market, and a collaborative tech ecosystem that helped us get early traction,” Manchanda said. “The culture here prioritizes community, sustainability, and quality—values that have become foundational to our mission.”
As a finalist for the BC Tech Company of the Year – Startup award, Manchanda and the CaterDash team are feeling both proud and motivated. “It’s an incredible honour and a real validation of the work we’ve put in,” he said. “It’s a reminder that what we’re building matters and that there’s a whole community behind us cheering us on.”
