Vancouver-based climate tech startup Properate has unveiled Stride, a mobile app designed to help HVAC contractors size heat pumps faster and more accurately—one of the retrofit industry’s biggest challenges.
Available nationwide, Stride enables contractors to complete CSA F280-compliant calculations directly on-site using mobile LiDAR scans, 3D home models, and instant heat load reports. The result is faster quoting, fewer design errors, and greater homeowner confidence in electrification upgrades.
“Stride cuts out weeks of back-and-forth between advisors and contractors by putting the right tools in the field team’s hands,” said Arman Mottaghi, Properate CEO and building scientist. “It empowers HVAC pros to deliver better installations and better outcomes—without sacrificing time or accuracy.”
The launch comes at a pivotal time. With new electrification incentives and rising demand for clean heating, contractors are under pressure to scale their operations without compromising quality. Stride streamlines workflows while improving the homeowner experience.
Founded in 2022, Properate has steadily expanded its suite of retrofit solutions. While Properate Maps and Properate Homes focus on energy modelling and planning, Stride delivers those precision tools directly to the trades.
The app is now available to HVAC professionals across Canada.
