Science World will open its doors for free on Friday, September 19, inviting thousands of Greater Vancouver families to explore science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) at the annual Tech-Up Showcase presented by Amazon Future Engineer.
Last year’s showcase welcomed more than 9,400 visitors, underscoring the community’s appetite for accessible science and technology education. This year, Science World is once again inviting Vancouverites to gather under the dome to connect, create, and imagine with science at the center.
The Tech-Up Showcase brings together Science World’s Tech-Up program and Amazon Future Engineer. Tech-Up is a province-wide initiative that equips youth with digital skills, focusing on communities historically underrepresented in STEAM—including girls and young women, Indigenous learners, people with disabilities, and students in rural and remote regions. Amazon Future Engineer is Amazon Canada’s childhood-to-career program designed to expand access to computer science education for students from underserved backgrounds.
Visitors to the September event can expect interactive programming that highlights how science and technology intersect with everyday life, culture, and creativity. From hands-on experiments to digital workshops, the showcase is designed to spark curiosity and inspire future innovators.

The Free Tech-Up Showcase presented by Amazon Future Engineer takes place at Science World on Friday, September 19, from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm. Admission is free and granted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to capacity.
