FireSwarm, Glüxkind, and Insporos have been named the top three finalists for BC Tech Association’s Company of the Year – Startup Award, following a live pitch showdown in Vancouver.
Hosted at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP’s downtown offices on September 24, ten shortlisted startups pitched their ideas to a panel of industry judges. The three finalists will now advance to the Technology Impact Awards (TIAs) gala on October 23 at Parq Vancouver, where the winner will be announced.
FireSwarm is tackling wildfire prevention with drone-enabled early detection.
Glüxkind is known for its AI-powered stroller designed to make parenting easier and safer.
Insporos is advancing biotech solutions for crop diagnostics to improve global food security.
“Partnerships like this one matter,” said Dan Box, GM/VP of EA Ventures, sponsor of the Startup of the Year award. “By spotlighting BC’s most promising startups, we’re not just celebrating their success — we’re helping to build the future of tech right here in our province.”
“There’s nothing more energizing than a room full of entrepreneurs pitching their big ideas,” added Mark Longo, Vancouver Managing Partner and Co-Chair of Osler’s Emerging and High Growth Companies Group. “It’s an honour to host this event and support these entrepreneurs as they chase their visions.”
Jill Tipping, CEO of BC Tech, said this year’s finalists embody the boldness and ambition of BC’s startup ecosystem. “We are incredibly proud to celebrate these entrepreneurs and are committed to helping startups scale and turn today’s bright ideas into the anchor companies of tomorrow.”
Tickets to the October 23 TIAs gala are available online.
