Vancouver-based home electrification company Jetson has earned a spot on TIME Magazine’s prestigious list of the Best Inventions of 2025, recognized for its breakthrough heat pump system, Jetson Air.
TIME praised Jetson for tackling one of the biggest barriers to heat pump adoption — high installation costs — by using technology to assess projects remotely and completing installs in a single day. The publication also highlighted Jetson’s vertically integrated approach, including the launch of its own device and 24/7 monitoring system that tracks performance, air quality, and filter changes.
Jetson Air, which debuted in September, combines smart-home connectivity with reliable performance in cold climates, operating down to -30°C. The company’s platform provides transparent online pricing, real-time energy tracking, and a subscription service for ongoing maintenance and monitoring.
“Jetson Air is bringing the same kind of innovation to your home’s heating and cooling that Tesla brought to your driveway—smart, electric, and built for the future,” said Stephen Lake, co-founder and CEO of Jetson.
“Most heat pump systems today are still made and installed by companies rooted in gas equipment. They know hardware, not software. Software is what unlocks real gains in efficiency, comfort, and control.”
The TIME accolade marks another milestone for Jetson as it expands beyond British Columbia into markets across the United States, aiming to accelerate the shift to efficient, climate-friendly home heating and cooling.
