Victoria’s MeepMeep Raises Capital to Scale Healthcare Safety Device

February 3, 2026 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

Last year, we reported on Victoria-born startup MeepMeep expanding its tracking technology beyond sports to the healthcare field.

Founder Eve Bennett says the pivot was not planned; rather, “MeepMeep’s entry into senior care was driven by market pull.”

“Care teams told us this was something they needed right away,” says chief executive officer Bennett. “That urgency shaped everything that followed.”

Canada has approximately 800 private long-term care homes with an estimated 64,000 residents, representing a multimillion-dollar opportunity for MeepMeep.

This month, the B.C. innovator announced pre-seed fundraising in a round led by LOI Venture and UCeed.

Since April, Bennett says MeepMeep has grown rapidly within the senior care sector, expanding deployments across long-term care, assisted living, and aging-in-place programs.

“The drive and sheer grit of Eve and the MeepMeep team were a big reason LOI Ventures chose to invest,” reads a statement from the investment firm. “This is founder-led execution focused on building something real and needed.”

Bennett, says UCeed, “is tackling a very real and often overlooked problem in senior care: keeping people safe without adding stigma or friction.”

The business remains in “early days,” according to investors, “but the market is unique, the pain is real, and the potential impact of improving safety, dignity, and peace of mind in long-term care and aging-in-place settings is significant.”

The fundraising is earmarked for scaling enterprise deployments, advancing profit developments, and deepening partnerships with senior care operators across Canada.

MeepMeep was founded in 2020.
