Vancouver healthtech startup EyeCareX has been selected for the 2026 Google for Startups Accelerator: Canada, earning a spot in a competitive national cohort of AI-driven ventures.
Announced by Iran Karimian, Head of Accelerator & Startup Ecosystem, Canada at Google, the program brings together 14 startups from coast to coast working across healthcare, agriculture, finance, construction, manufacturing, and more.
EyeCareX is building the AI-powered future of eye care by automating eye exams to improve access and clinic efficiency — a timely innovation as healthcare systems face staffing shortages and growing patient demand.
The 10-week accelerator will see founders collaborate with Google experts to refine business models, scale AI capabilities, and connect with investors and partners. Participants also receive early access to Google AI tools, mentorship, Google Cloud credits, and free Cloud TPUs to accelerate machine learning development.
The program continues to be a meaningful pipeline for Canadian innovation. Since launching in 2020, Google’s startup accelerators in Canada have supported 145 companies that have collectively raised more than $580 million CAD and created 1,400 jobs nationwide.
The latest cohort will present their progress at a Demo Day hosted by Google during Toronto Tech Week in May.
