Zebra Ventures is investing is one of Canada’s fastest growing technology firms.
The corporate venture capital arm of Zebra Technologies Corporation, which trades on the NASDAQ as ZBRA, supports early-stage companies involved in digitizing and automating the front lines of business.
Vancouver-based Apera AI, meanwhile, is a provider of 4D Vision for industrial robots. The company’s system equips robots with real-time visual intelligence, enabling them to locate, identify, and manipulate complex parts with speed, precision, and reliability.
Apera AI uses light-resilient stereo vision and AI models to function consistently in dynamic, real-world conditions. The local innovator’s patented 4D Vision technology unlocks factory performance, enabling automotive and other industrial manufacturers and suppliers to achieve “unmatched levels of productivity, quality, and cost savings.”

The investment “marks a major milestone for Apera AI,” according to cofounder and chief executive officer Sina Afrooze.

With the investment from Zebra Ventures, Apera AI will enhance its ability to support customers who require fast, scalable deployments, particularly in complex or variable manufacturing environments where Physical AI delivers adaptability, according to a statement.
Zebra Technologies was founded in 1969. Apera AI launched in 2017.
