Nutanix Opens Vancouver Engineering Hub

May 14, 2026 by Techcouver Newsdesk Leave a Comment

San Jose-based enterprise cloud company Nutanix is expanding its global engineering footprint with a permanent product engineering hub in Vancouver.

The new hub will support development of the next generation of the Nutanix Cloud Platform, with local teams focused on software-defined networking, cloud management and Nutanix Agentic AI, the company’s full-stack platform for building and operating enterprise AI applications.

Founded in 2009, Nutanix helps organizations run and manage applications and data across data centres and cloud environments through an integrated platform that brings together computing, storage and networking.

According to Trade and Invest BC, the Vancouver expansion represents a long-term investment in British Columbia and will create high-impact engineering roles in the region. The company said the Vancouver team will include senior architects and local technical talent working on complex systems, with engineers playing a direct role in architecture, standards and team culture.

The office will operate on a hybrid model, with employees onsite three days a week.

Nutanix is a member of the BC Tech Association.

Nutanix is also building relationships with post-secondary institutions, including the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and the University of Waterloo. Through co-op and internship programs, students will gain experience working on distributed systems alongside experienced engineers.

The company’s decision to establish a Vancouver hub adds to the city’s growing cluster of cloud computing, artificial intelligence and enterprise software companies.

The announcement comes as Vancouver continues to attract international technology companies building product and engineering teams in the city. Nutanix is engaging with the local ecosystem as part of Web Summit Vancouver, which is bringing global technology leaders, investors and innovators to the city this week.

While the announcement did not disclose the number of jobs tied to the expansion or the size of the investment, Nutanix’s new hub positions Vancouver as a key part of the company’s global engineering network and a home for its work in enterprise cloud and AI infrastructure.
