This year, Zillow became the first real estate app to embed directly within ChatGPT.
“People are already using AI to make everyday decisions,” Josh Weisberg, Zillow’s head of AI, commented at the time. “By bringing Zillow into ChatGPT, we’re making it just as natural to ask about homes.”
This week, B.C.-based Zealty.ca became the first Canadian real estate listing portal to operate directly inside ChatGPT, which is now used by more than 800 million people weekly.
Through the integration, users can search live property listings through natural language directly inside the popular AI platform.
Zealty launched in 2018 based on real estate mapping software developed by Canadian real estate agent and entrepreneur Gary Little.
Little cofounded Zealty alongside Adam Major in Vancouver under the Holywell Properties brand following a decision by the Supreme Court of Canada which upheld a Competition Bureau ruling against the Toronto Real Estate Board that loosened restrictions around data such as sold prices.
“We are the first platform in British Columbia to publicly display sold data, setting a new standard for transparency in the local real estate market,” says Hamidreza Etebarian, who serves as President of the company.
The ChatGPT integration is “the next step” for Zealty, according to the entrepreneur—another way of “simplifying how Canadians discover and understand real estate.”
“We believe this represents a real shift in how Canadians will search for real estate, moving away from rigid filters toward natural, conversational discovery,” stated Etebarian, a UBC graduate and BCBusiness 30 Under 30 honouree recognized for cofounding Vancouver-based Offerland Technologies, which specializes in AI-powered digital tools for the Canadian residential real estate industry.
