June 3, 2026 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

The top 25 startups advancing in the 2026 New Ventures BC Competition have been confirmed.

The original 15 who made it to Round 3 of the province’s longest-running tech competition includes Squamish-based Eagle Eyes Search, Port Moody’s eSense Health, and Circl Brain Health Metrics out of Victoria.

Last week, NVBC hosted a Round 2.5 Pitch Event, where 30 startups were judged by a panel of experts.

From that affair, another 10 startups advanced to Round 3, including Vancouver-based semiconductor innovator Dream Photonics, which Techcouver readers will recall last month garnered $1.2M to establish domestic pilot manufacturing of optical interconnects that enable AI and quantum chips to communicate.

Earlier this year, NVBC unveiled BC’s Capital Raising Index, which functions as a centralized and publicly accessible list of companies actively raising funds.

For startups, the value proposition is straightforward: increased exposure. Companies included in the Index are promoted through New Ventures BC’s network of investors, partners, and ecosystem organizations, with additional visibility tied to major moments like Web Summit Vancouver.

For investors, the Index offers a more efficient way to source opportunities, consolidating high-potential ventures into a single, easy-to-navigate platform while also enabling facilitated introductions to founders.
