As the world arrives in Vancouver for seven FIFA World Cup 2026 matches this summer, British Columbia is preparing to turn global attention into economic opportunity.
BC Tech is partnering with the Government of British Columbia to help promote trade, attract investment, and showcase the province’s most dynamic industry sectors to an international audience through BC Business House, a dedicated business development hub at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Running from June 12 to July 7, BC Business House will bring together senior business leaders, investors, companies, founders, government partners, and international delegations during one of the largest global sporting events ever staged in North America.
Vancouver is set to host seven tournament matches between June 13 and July 7, creating what the province describes as a major opportunity to advance trade, attract investment, and accelerate commercial partnerships while global leaders are gathered in the city.
Launched by the Government of British Columbia, BC Business House is designed as a structured platform for business meetings, investor and delegation engagements, curated programming, and sector-specific networking. The hub will offer meeting and collaboration spaces, match viewing, and events aligned with trade and investment objectives.
A central feature of the initiative will be seven Industry Sector Showcase events, each focused on a leading area of B.C.’s economy.
The showcase schedule includes Tourism on June 12, Energy on June 17, Life Sciences on June 19, Mining on June 23, Technology on June 25, Agriculture & Food on June 30, and Trade & Logistics Infrastructure on July 6.
For B.C.’s technology sector, the June 25 Technology Showcase will offer a platform to highlight the province’s artificial intelligence and broader tech ecosystem to investors, business leaders, and potential partners from Canada and abroad.
The technology showcase comes as B.C. continues to position itself as a hub for artificial intelligence, digital media, clean technology, life sciences innovation, and advanced industries.
BC Business House will be located at the Vancouver Convention Centre, overlooking Vancouver’s waterfront, port infrastructure, and downtown business district. The province says the location was chosen to help showcase the real-world assets behind B.C.’s trade, infrastructure, and industry advantages.
The initiative also includes programming from Invest Vancouver, with executive events focused on regional growth sectors such as clean technology, life sciences, critical minerals, defence, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
For local companies, the opportunity is twofold: to connect with international investors and delegations already in Vancouver for the tournament, and to demonstrate how B.C.’s innovation economy fits into the province’s broader trade and investment story.
With the World Cup bringing global attention to Vancouver, BC Business House aims to ensure B.C.’s business community is not just watching from the sidelines.
