BC Tech Reveals Finalists for 2026 Technology Impact Awards

BC Tech has announced the finalists for its 2026 Technology Impact Awards, spotlighting dozens of companies helping shape the future of British Columbia’s innovation economy.

This year’s TIAs feature 48 finalists across 11 award categories, recognizing companies at every stage of growth, from emerging startups to established anchors, as well as innovators making an impact in artificial intelligence, health tech, climate leadership, company culture, and industry transformation.

The annual awards are one of the province’s highest-profile celebrations of technology, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Finalists for Company of the Year – Growth are Industrio, Kobalt.io, SenseNet, Variational AI, and Workforce Wellness.

The Company of the Year – Scale finalists are Atreides, Minga, Novarc Technologies, Traction Complete, and VRIFY, while the Company of the Year – Anchor category includes Absolute Security, Delta-Q Technologies, and WELLSTAR Technologies.

BC Tech also named Corinex, MyFO, KITS eyecare, and Photonic as finalists for Company of the Year – Ambition.

Artificial intelligence is a major focus of this year’s awards. The Gamechanger – AI category includes Clarius, INETCO, SimplyAsk, Unblocked, and Variational AI. The award recognizes BC companies using AI to drive innovation and impact across industries.

Other Gamechanger categories include Deal of the Year, where finalists are Kardium, PH7, Photonic, and WELL Health, and Company Culture, which features Charitable Impact, Freightera, Global Relay, and Hiive.

Finalists for Gamechanger – Industry Innovation are Freightera, Ideon Technologies, PressReader, and Quandri.

The Gamechanger – Climate Leadership category includes BCAA, CO280, Miraterra, and Veritree, while Gamechanger – Health Tech finalists are IKOMED Technologies, Jane, mlHealth360, PBC Solutions, and SimuHealth.

BC Tech also announced the shortlisted companies for Company of the Year – Startup: Hyperlocal, Intellimass, Lite-1 Bio, Oversushi, Pointvalues Lab Developers, Simply Sweet Games, Tersa Critical Minerals, and Viridis Research. Those companies will compete for a finalist spot this fall at BC Tech’s Dragon’s Den Pitch Night.

BC Tech also announced this year’s BC Innovators Hall of Fame inductees: TELUS CEO Darren Entwistle and Simon Fraser University president Joy Johnson.

Launched in 2023, the BC Innovators Hall of Fame recognizes leaders who have helped build and strengthen the province’s technology and innovation ecosystem.

Winners of the 2026 Technology Impact Awards will be announced at the Technology Impact Awards gala in Vancouver this fall.
