EarthDaily Clears Path to Supply Satellite Imagery to Ottawa

September 15, 2026 by Techcouver Newsdesk Leave a Comment

Vancouver-based EarthDaily Analytics has secured a standing offer that could make its commercial satellite imagery more accessible across the federal government.

The company has been awarded a Government of Canada National Master Standing Offer for Commercial Satellite Imagery, establishing a pre-approved procurement framework through which eligible departments and agencies can purchase EarthDaily imagery and related services as needed.

The arrangement is not a contract or a guarantee that Ottawa will make future purchases. Instead, it sets technical requirements, pricing terms and contractual conditions in advance, reducing the complexity and time involved when a government organization wants to place an order.

The award arrives as EarthDaily prepares its purpose-built satellite constellation for commercial operations.

“Securing a National Master Standing Offer represents an important milestone,” said EarthDaily CEO Don Osborne, adding that it will make it easier for the federal government to work with the company.

EarthDaily’s Earth observation system is designed to repeatedly capture consistent, scientifically calibrated imagery across large geographic areas. Its potential government applications include environmental monitoring, natural resource management, emergency response, defence and national security.

The company combines data collected by its constellation with advanced processing technology, artificial intelligence models and industry-specific analytics. The resulting intelligence can help customers detect environmental changes, monitor evolving risks and make operational decisions across sectors including agriculture, insurance, mining and forestry.

The standing offer also supports EarthDaily’s broader push into the public sector. In August, the company announced that it would lead a Canadian government project developing an AI-enabled satellite monitoring platform for Defence Research and Development Canada and the RCMP.

That initiative is focused on strengthening border awareness by combining Earth observation data with artificial intelligence.

EarthDaily says the new standing offer provides a more direct path from a federal government requirement to the delivery of satellite imagery, while also supporting repeat purchases as operational needs evolve.
