Vancouver’s Ecotagious has been acquired by Boulder’s Uplight. No financial terms were disclosed.
Ecotagious is a market leader in turning a customer’s energy data into energy savings.
Uplight was formed last month when Tendril and Simple Energy merged their business operations and formed a new company. Uplight offers the most comprehensive suite of customer-facing solutions to electric and gas utilities and Rubicon Technology Partners is its majority shareholder.
Ecotagious’ SaaS-based insights platform uses advanced smart meter disaggregation, machine learning and behavioral science to provide residential customers with uniquely personalized, appliance-level insights into their energy experience.
Applied to Home Energy Reports (HERs), home voice assistants, APIs that allow energy providers to build their own applications, and more, their unique disaggregation technology has contributed to impressive results across gas and electric programs at more than 13 utilities in Canada, the United States and internationally.
Ecotagious is also developing load profiles and personalized insights to help low-income customers in California save on their electricity bills.
