Deloitte Canada has announced this year’s winners of the Technology Fast 50, Companies-to-Watch, and Enterprise Fast 15 awards, recognizing the world-class achievements of the best in tech companies across Canada for the 24th year.
2021 saw its own unique challenges that shaped today’s tech companies. The list unveiled today highlights those who have shown true resilience, commitment to innovation, leadership, and rapid revenue growth between 2017 and 2020.
This year’s average three-year growth of the Fast 50 winners is up at 2,604 per cent, compared to 2,144 per cent last year. The B.C. companies on the Technology Fast 50 list are:
- #4 – AbCellera, Vancouver – 6,784%
- #5 – Traction Guest, Burnaby – 5,320%
- #12 – Klue, Vancouver – 2,218%
- #18 – Later, Vancouver – 1,164%
- #27 – GeoComply, Vancouver – 653%
- #29 – Jane.app, Vancouver – 557%
- #31 – Thinkific, Vancouver – 548%
- #35 – Lumen5, Vancouver – 486%
- #36 – Blackbird Interactive, Vancouver – 482%
- #48 – ThoughtExchange, Rossland – 257%
Three B.C.-based companies – Vancouver’s Canalyst, Clir Renewables, and CoPilot AI – received a Companies-to-Watch award as part of this year’s program, a category that highlights emerging Canadian tech companies that exhibit strong growth and show potential to be a future candidate of the Technology Fast 50 ranking.
This year’s Technology Fast 50 program welcomed a new award category, the Clean Technology award, a ranking of Canada’s top clean innovators providing processes, goods or services that reduce environmental impacts.
Taking first place in the new Clean Technology category, with three-year growth of 4,043%, is Kelowna’s Pela.
Pela is developing products that reduce waste and educate and inspire a global community of people who are committed to making a positive impact on our planet. Also included on the Clean Technology list are mCloud Technologies (3,106%), MineSense (756%). and Good Natured Products (460%).
Additionally, two companies from B.C. – Vancouver’s Canada Drives and Visier – received an Enterprise Fast 15 award, a leadership category open to companies that recorded a minimum revenue of $10 million in 2016 and a minimum revenue of $25 million in 2019.
This year’s tally of eighteen companies is up from last year when Deloitte included eleven B.C. companies on their annual list.
