CLōD Processes Inference Tokens with Tech That Cuts the Cost of Compute

April 9, 2026 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

As artificial intelligence tools scale, inference has become a salient cost for developers.

Vancouver-based LōD believes it has a solution.

LōD Technologies builds energy-intelligent computing infrastructure that optimizes the flow of energy and workloads across data centres to enable computing resources such as AI training and Bitcoin mining to operate as flexible loads that respond to real-time market conditions.

The B.C. tech firm this week affirmed the successful launch of CLōD, a platform that aims to help developers reduce the cost of running AI inference without changing infrastructure or code.

Instead of running inference in a fixed location at a fixed price, CLōD enables workloads to be dynamically routed to where compute is cheaper in real time based on real-time conditions such as electricity prices and available capacity.

For developers, this means up to 60% lower inference costs, according to chief executive officer Medi Naseri.

LōD is a member of the BC Tech Association.

BC Tech is the largest member-led technology non-profit in British Columbia, and we’re dedicated to turning startups and scaleups into the anchor companies of tomorrow. Our work supports members to grow and diversify their talent pool, acquire new customers, access capital and accelerate their scaleup journey. Technology is a key industry for BC’s future and builds resiliency in every industry. Today, every company is a tech company. Join now.

“Developers shouldn’t have to think about energy markets or infrastructure complexity to optimize cost,” the CEO says. “CLōD handles that automatically in the background, so they can focus on building.”

So far, the platform has processed billions of inference tokens across more than 1,500 early adopter developers.

‍LōD, a Foresight 50 company, originally unveiled CLōD at All In 2025 in Montreal.

LōD Technologies, a Foresight 50 company, also recently achieved System and Organization Controls 1 Type II certification.

“Achieving SOC 1 Type II validates that LōD operates with the financial rigour, auditability, and consistency required by enterprise operators, investors, and regulated markets as they scale,” Naseri commented in January.

And ‍LōD also participated in the inaugural “AI for Energy” stream within the Google for Startups Accelerator program.
