Insporos Wins Frontier Collective $20K Pitch Prize

May 21, 2026 by Robert Lewis Leave a Comment

Vancouver agtech startup Insporos has won Frontier Collective’s $20,000 Pitch Competition, taking home non-dilutive funding from Vancity after pitching at Vancity Innovation House 2026.

The company, led by founder and CEO Mallory Flynn, was selected from a lineup of 10 startups competing across AI, climate tech, health innovation, clean energy, and other frontier technology sectors. The prize also includes a Foundational Partnership with Frontier Collective and a full pass to Frontier Summit 2026, taking place October 6 to 8 in Vancouver.

Insporos is developing intelligent seed-sorting technology that analyzes individual seeds for defects and disease before planting. The Vancouver company’s platform is designed to help growers reduce waste, improve crop outcomes, and lower the risk of seed-borne disease.

Insporos is a member of the BC Tech Association.

BC Tech is the largest member-led technology non-profit in British Columbia, and we’re dedicated to turning startups and scaleups into the anchor companies of tomorrow. Our work supports members to grow and diversify their talent pool, acquire new customers, access capital and accelerate their scaleup journey. Frontier Collective CEO Dan Burgar praised the company’s traction, noting that Insporos has letters of intent representing millions of seeds across propagators, growers, and seed companies. He described the company as “born and built in British Columbia” and focused on solving one of agriculture’s oldest and most overlooked problems.

The win adds to a growing list of recognition for Insporos. Earlier this year, Techcouver named the company one of 10 Homegrown B.C. Startups to Watch in 2026, citing its advanced seed-sorting technology, Startup of the Year win at BC Tech’s 2025 Technology Impact Awards, and mission to help growers “Grow Predictably.”
