Metavista3D Secures $6M to Commercialize Next-Gen Visual Immersion Tech

September 2, 2026 by Knowlton Thomas Leave a Comment

In January, Metavista3D showcased spatial display innovations at the popular annual Consumer Electronics Show.

For the Vancouver-based company, which specializes in glasses-free pseudo-holographic 3D display technology featuring movement tracking and real-time AI-powered 2D-to-3D content conversion, the event was “highly successful.”

The success continued in August when the public traded Metavista3D secured $6 million in financing from institutional investors Sorbie Bornholm and Sorbie Investments.

Metavista3D intends to use the proceeds to advance commercialization of its glasses-free 3D display technology, to support its patent portfolio, and for general working capital, according to a statement.

“This financing gives us the capital to keep building without slowing down,” says Dino Minichiello, Interim chief executive officer of Metavista3D.

Metavista3D’s technology “is a remarkable leap forward and a striking experience compared to other 3D tech I’ve seen,” says Whitney Kofford, managing director of Sorbie Bornholm.

“They turn an ordinary screen into true 3D with no glasses or headset, and they have a clear, partner-driven plan to bring it to market,” Kofford observes.

“Our patented technology ensures the perfect blend of depth, clarity, and colour accuracy, allowing you to explore the Metaverse in ways you never thought possible,” the Canadian company claims.

“We’re focused on advancing our glasses-free 3D display platform and the broader human performance applications of our technology,” Minichiello stated.

Minichiello added that “Sorbie’s model lines up with how we think about growth: capital that scales with performance rather than diluting it upfront.”

“The Sharing Agreement gives [Metavista3D] the opportunity to access additional, non-dilutive cash so the team can accelerate growth,” Kofford believes.

And it is worth noting that the investment in Metavista3D marks a “full-circle moment” for Sorbie.

“Founder and CEO Greg Kofford invested in a 3D glasses home unit in the 1990s,” explains Kofford, who adds: “We are glad to be back in the 3D space to support Metavista3D as they advance and commercialize.”

Metavista3D was founded in 2022 and launched in 2023.

The firm’s shares are publicly traded in Canada on the TSX-Venture Exchange under the ticker symbol DDD and on the German Stock Exchange in Frankfurt under the ticker symbol E3T.
